South Boston Obituaries & Tributes
The family of Margaret A. (Greig) McCusker of South Boston is saddened to announce her passing on June 20, 2025, at the age of 74 years. She was born in Boston on April 3, 1951, to the late David and Jenit (MacEachern) Greig. Devoted mother to the late Sean McCusker. Loving and proud grandmother of Sean McDonough and his wife Cassie Len, Joseph, Patrick, and Lauren Arlauskas. Beloved honorary mother-in-law of Kathleen and Joseph Arlauskas. Cherished sister of her twin Catherine Greig and the late David and Jean Greig. Also survived by a niece and nephew.
Margaret was known for her unwavering love and support for her family and her grandchildren were the light of her life. When she did anything, she usually overdid it! She devoted her life to her family and community, working as a nurse at a nursing home and Boston Public Health Commission clinics for many years. She liked work and her clients, especially her colleagues and enjoyed starting their day off right with coffee. She never met a stranger and had a true fondness for almost anyone who crossed her path, especially those less fortunate. She will be remembered for her kindness and her excessive generosity. She was careful with people's feelings and had compassion for them. Gram brought so many happy moments in our lives and left us with a treasure of memories. She will never be forgotten. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Tremendous and heartfelt thanks go to the truly exceptional nurses and staff at Compass on the Bay, BMC and Pat Roche Hospice House who all provided much more than nursing care for Margaret by also providing a peaceful and compassionate environment during her transition from this life to the next.
Private Services were held.
